Blog ISO14001 Environmental Toolkit Gets a Green Makeover

A raft of improvements

Now we’ve launched Version 2 – and there are plenty of improvements to get excited about.

The toolkit is the latest in the CertiKit collection to get a complete redesign, with a new colour scheme, fonts and imagery.

All Visio flowcharts have been replaced with those in Microsoft Word, certain appendices have been recreated as standalone forms, and handy dashboards have been added to Excel spreadsheets.

The toolkit comes bundled with its own CertiKit theme of styles and colours, which makes it easy for customers to change the ‘green’ look and feel of the documents should they wish.

There are also several new documents and other tweaks:

• Completion Instructions: These have been updated to give a better introduction to the toolkit
• Implementation Guide: A section on the integrated management system has been added
• Toolkit Index: New document with two indices – one by document and the other by ISO14001 requirement
• EMS Overview: New diagram showing how all the toolkit documents fall under the various section headings of the standard
• Certification Readiness Checklist: New document listing a dozen steps which must be completed ahead of the certification process
• EMS Processes and Interactions: New document including a diagram of how the standard’s processes interact with one another

Toolkits simpler to navigate

CertiKit managing director Ken Holmes says the documents look more professional and competent than ever.

He added: “I’m delighted that we’ve now been able to apply the kind of look-and-feel enhancements to our ISO14001 toolkit that have been so well received by our other toolkit customers.

“In particular, the dashboard enhancements to our spreadsheet tools make reporting and analysis easy. We continue to pack more and more useful functionality into our documents.

“The new Toolkit Index sets out clearly how each requirement of the standard is addressed by the toolkit. Together with the new overview diagram, understanding how our toolkit works has never been so simple.
