EU GDPR Toolkit Update - Version 8 Release

Things rarely stand still in the world of data privacy, and recent events have precipitated a new release of our popular GDPR Toolkit. The newly-approved EU US Data Privacy Framework means that personal data can flow freely once more between the EU and the USA and we have taken the opportunity to reflect this in version eight of our toolkit. All references to its predecessor, the EU US Privacy Shield, have been updated in the relevant documents, along with updates to the adequacy situation between the EU and the UK (the adequacy decision was granted after a trial period).

But that’s not all; we have also added all of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) guidance documents released since the last update and the standard contractual clauses (SCCs) that have been published also. The SCCs in particular can be a huge help to a company wrestling with getting GDPR-compliant contracts in place with processors, especially those based in countries for which the EU has not made an adequacy decision.

As well as reviewing, updating and correcting existing documents throughout the toolkit, we have added in new documents in the following areas:

  • Data masking (for example anonymisation)
  • Information deletion
  • BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)

We will of course be keeping an eye on future developments that might require an update, but for now you can rest assured that version 8 of our GDPR Toolkit reflects the current state of play for EU privacy.

CertiKit’s GDPR toolkit has been popular since its launch in 2018 with more than 2300 sold worldwide, and we expect the popularity will continue with this new release. The updated GDPR toolkit is now available for new customers to purchase via our website and will be provided free of charge via email notification to qualifying existing customers via our lifetime updates promise. The toolkit comes with email support, document reviews and lifetime updates.
